9th of AV and the Birth of the Messiah

Shalom Chaverim, Our Rabbis may their memory be blessed declared in Shabbat 33a: Through the crime of bloodshed the Temple was destroyed and the Shechinah departed from Israel. Today Israel is without a king, without the Temple, and without G-D's divine spirit. This is a day that we should all truly mourn. Amazingly it was our sages who declared that despite this tragic day, the 9th of Av is known as the day of the Geulah (Redemption), for the Messiah is born (or come) into the world. According to Yerushalmi one of the Messiah names will be "Menachem" or in English, "the Comforter." The book of Lamentations confirms it with the words of Jeremiah: She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; she hath none to comfort her (Menachem) among all her lovers; all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies. Yeshua our Messiah left with us the gift of the "Menachem" when he declared: But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall everything I have told you. We would like to encourage all of you to go and challenge the Jewish community on these specific questions: where is your Menachem? How do you restore the Divine Spirit that was lost 2000 years ago? The answer is in the Messiah who is greater than the physical temple! Please take the time and every opportunity to challenge our people with the truth. In Messiah's love, Rabbi Itzhak Shapira
