| Rabbi Shaul stated it like this in this shocking statement: " I speak the truth in Messiah—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Ruach HaKodesh— I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Messiah for the sake of my people, those of my own race." |
As we launch Ahavat Ammi's Messsianic Jewish Synagogue's website, I would like to dedicate this first blog entry to our name. The name Ahavat Ammi means in Hebrew "For the Love of My People." You might wonder who "my people" are. Aren't all "my people?" I can honestly tell you the love our synagogue is built upon is geared towards all people; tall or short, skinny or fat, black or white, married or single, child or elderly and so on.
Yeshua our Messiah has never put limitation's on his love, and we also are commanded not to put limitations on our love towards each other either. So you might wonder what is this business about "My People." As most of you know, I was born and raised in Israel, and today there are 13 million Jews in the world who have not heard about Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah. My love for my people is so great, that I am willing to be called names, be made fun of, and even persecuted in order for them to see the true definition of love that exists in Yeshua the Messiah.
